We know everyone learns differently. That’s why we offer a personalised driving instructor training package, tailored to your experience and understanding. Our program blends both in-car training and classroom sessions, ensuring a complete and effective learning experience.
When you enrol in our Driving Instructor Course, you’ll be matched with a dedicated in-car trainer who lives nearby. This ensures you get the support you need as you work towards becoming a qualified driving instructor.
To become a qualified driving instructor and a DVSA-approved instructor, you must pass the DVSA test. This test is divided into three parts:
In this section, you’ll receive access to all the reference materials recommended by the DVSA. Classroom sessions will be available to help you grasp the syllabus, taught by a trained instructor who will also provide support as needed. With over 400 hazard perception clips and a range of DVDs, you’ll have all the resources to excel.
This practical section of the driving instructor course focuses on in-car driving. You’ll be assessed on a driving journey and receive additional training to improve your skills. After passing this section, you can start working as a Trainee Driving Instructor with the Lanes Group of Driving Schools.
Once you pass the first two modules, you’ll receive a provisional licence for six months. This licence allows you to teach pupils at a sponsored driving school. You will also need to complete an additional 20 hours of training within the first three months. During this period, you’ll earn as you train to pass the third part of the course.
In this final module, you will receive practical in-car instructor training and classroom tuition. The course structure is tailored to your individual learning style. Training sessions are delivered in 2 hour blocks, allowing you to work around your existing schedule.
